About being our Cultural Resources Specialist\n
As a Cultural Resources Specialist, you will utilize your expertise for fieldwork assignments that could include archaeological survey, site recordation, testing, data recovery excavation and construction monitoring; as well as conducting record searches with the Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP), preparing site records and inventory forms, daily monitory reports, and assisting with curation related tasks. This opening is for a temporary, part-time position with the possibility to transition to full-time employment.\n

Responsibility Highlights for our Cultural Resources Specialist\n\nPerform archaeological field surveys, excavation, construction monitoring, and documentation in accordance with applicable local, states, and federal guidelines, and requirements\nCommunicate effectively with construction crews and field staff\nMaintain written monitoring logs and provide status updates to project management\nAbility to identify archaeological resources while working on construction sites and communicate resource requirements with construction personnel, including Native American monitors and tribal representatives\nMay require out of town and\/or state travel\nPotential for future cultural resource assignments\nHave a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and execute new tasks\n\n

Minimum Qualifications to be our Cultural Resources Specialist\n\nBachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology or related field, or an equivalent field experience\nMust have experience in Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest\nAble to work independently in potentially adverse conditions\nMust have the ability to conduct field work for extended periods of time\nPhysically fit to navigate rugged conditions on foot while carry supplies\nPreferred candidate is local to Seattle area\nWork hours and availability can vary based on project and weather, and may include night work\nMust have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation and a good driving record\n4x4 driving experience required in remote, rugged, and undeveloped terrain in company provided truck\nMust be at least 25 years of age, have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record within the last 5 years\nWill be required to submit a completed Motor Vehicle Record release form to confirm driving record\n\n\n\n
