The role ensures compliance with the national Commission of Osteopathic College Accreditation ( COCA ) Standards for curriculum. As a member of the Office of Medical Education ( OME ), the Curriculum Manager is responsible for completing multiple, complex tasks with varying deadlines, typically requiring significant cross-training, education, and experience. The role also requires flexibility to step into ongoing processes, provide unit coverage, and ensure timely task completion. This position works closely with a team to manage course and curricular scheduling across the four-year medical school program (~160 courses, over 150 faculty members, both internal and clinically affiliated). The Curriculum Manager collaborates with other OME team members and partners with faculty and students in a team-oriented, mission-focused, and inclusive manner to ensure the appropriate delivery of the curriculum. Position Responsibilities: + Manages curricular processes and resource delivery, ensuring accreditation standards are met for Ohio University and the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine ( HCOM ). Develops documentation for the education program ( UCC ) and course ( ICC ) review and approvals, including credit hour calculations for all course/clinical electives (~160 electives). Ensures proper completion of Registration and Registrar related processes for HCOM , collaborating with university staff in these offices. Manages Curriculum Committee documentation, task tracking, and compliance. Oversees accreditation requirements for the COCA and the Higher Learning Commission ( HLC ) related to curriculum with college. Plans, develops, and implements the medical student orientation program. + Develops and maintains student and faculty curricular resources by collecting, verifying, and managing technical resources for sessions in all courses in the learning management system ( LMS ). Ensures that appropriate clinical experience resources are available to students for their clinical experiences. Develops processes to gather, manage, and release curricular resources that minimize errors and improve efficiency. Collaborates with faculty and medical students to enhance resource dissemination. + Creates and maintains complex curricular documentation related to medical student education experiences and learning activities at the Heritage College. This includes creating and maintaining course syllabi, managing the curriculum catalog and other technical course materials, and maintaining a master curriculum file with course tracking. Generates reports based on curricular assessments, and develops and maintains curricular resources and manuals for faculty, staff, and students as the point of record for accreditation. + Manages course and curricular scheduling across the four-year academic curriculum. Oversees the creation, updating, storage, and retrieval of scheduling materials for Years 1-4 of the DO program across the three campuses and statewide clinical rotation sites. Maintains current schedules in the college’s LMS , including updates, prepares and distributes draft and final teaching requests to department chairs and faculty in advance of each semester. Coordinates student scheduling and learning activity sub-groupings as needed, and compiles and reports information related to curricular content, faculty teaching, and scheduling. + Communicates with faculty and students related to key curricular issues on behalf of OME . Reviews and edits curricular policies, oversees continuous quality improvement, and facilitates the rollout of novel processes. Collaborates with other units in the college to ensure curricular success at HCOM , including participation in college-wide committees, and takes on other administrative roles within the curriculum as necessary. May oversee work in curricular operations and assist with cross-training to ensure smooth operations.
