Custodial Foreperson III Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this Job Posting Details Position Information Job Title Custodial Foreperson III Full Time/Part Time Full Time FLSA Non-Exempt General Job Description This position is responsible for the cleaning and general maintenance of assigned buildings. Trains, instructs, schedules, supervises, and assists custodial staff in the performance of cleaning and general maintenance. Communicates with departments to identify departmental needs and assess customer satisfaction. Works is performed under the general supervision of a custodial supervisor and manager of custodial services. Essential Job Functions 1. Responsible for the general security and cleanliness of assigned buildings. 2. Performs a variety of routine custodial and cleaning activities. 3. Plans and schedules the work of custodial staff. 4. Trains, instructs, supervises, and assists custodial staff in performing assigned duties. 5. Checks inventory, orders supplies, and makes recommendations on custodial supplies. 6. Communicates with departments to assess overall customer satisfaction with services rendered and to identify needed maintenance, repairs, etc. 7. Checks and locks all doors to ensure building security when leaving at the end of each shift. 8. Recommends building maintenance and/or repairs. Non-Essential Job Functions 1. Operates university vehicle as necessary. 2. May participate in interviewing and hiring custodial staff. 3. May assist other forepersons or supervisors in cleaning of additional areas. 4. May be called upon for overnight, weekend duties, and/or emergency situations. 5. May attend meetings, training, and/or seminars. 6. Serves as backup to other departmental staff when assigned. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. 1. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures. 2. Skill in the use of standard tools and equipment of the profession. 3. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. 4. Ability to understand and follow instructions. 5. Ability to supervise the work of others. 6. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary. 7. Ability to possess a valid Texas driver’s license and qualify for university driver certification. Physical Demands Ability to work long hours while standing and to withstand the physical strain of cleaning work. Required Education Must have attained an educational level sufficient to read, write, and perform simple computations. Required Experience and Training Seven years of experience in custodial-related work is required. Experience as a leadperson in a service environment is required. A valid Texas driver’s license is required at time of employment. Preferred Qualifications Special Conditions for Eligibility This is a security-sensitive position subject to criminal record check. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to drug and alcohol testing. This is an IT-sensitive position subject to the Computer and Network Security policy. Min Pay Rate Mid Pay Rate Salary Information Salary Grade - 19 Specific Job Requirements/Duties for this Posting Is Background Check Required?
