Custodial Services Supervisor

The Custodial Services Supervisor performs responsible supervisory work involving the assignment and direct supervision of custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness of buildings, offices, classrooms, fitness centers, laboratories, furnishings, and equipment, as well as building entrances and exterior walkways. The Custodial Supervisor is also responsible for training new employees in proper custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies. Inspects custodial equipment in assigned area after each use and report problems by the end of that days shift to Custodial Services Assistant Manager and note in daily log. Daily progress inspection of all special project assignments by the end of shift and note in daily log. Required to performdaily quality assurance inspections in the assigned areas of their employees. Denotes and resolves any cleaning issues within 24 hours, and applies measures to prevent cleaning deficiencies from occurring. Monitors and interprets union contract. Initiates letters of reprimand and makes formal recommendations for disciplinary action. Responds to formal and informal employee grievances and prepares written responses. Documentsperformance, provides performance feedback, and formally evaluates the work of theemployee; provides reward and recognition for proper and efficient performance. Required daily to verify the assignment is for special event set-ups/breakdowns, and to verify that the venues are clean and ready for use. Informs staff of relevant business issues and theirimpact on the organization.

Must have a valid PA driver's license. Must be mobile enough to travel to all assigned facilities on campus. Must have ability to communicate by means of both verbal and non-verbal communication. Must have good analytical skills.Knowledge of custodial policies and procedures.
