Custody Operations - Direct Custody and Clearing Associate

As a Direct Custody and Clearing Associate within Custody Operations team, you will manage the India market entry and onboarding process for foreign portfolio investors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, drive process efficiencies, and manage risk and control assessments. This role offers you the chance to build strong relationships, stay current with industry changes, and contribute to the success of our custody operations.

Job responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end client onboarding, including Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) registrationStay current with evolving industry and regulatory changes, client requirements and analyze impact to business, processes, and complianceDrive process efficiencies by innovation and roboticsBuild and manage effective work relationships with internal stakeholders, like Know Your Customer (KYC) Utility Team, Business, Compliance, Legal teams, and external stakeholders, including but not limited to regulators and auditorsPerform detail risk and control assessments and ongoing process reviews to identify patterns/trends with risk and control implicationsEnsure compliance with Indian capital market and banking regulationsCollaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver best-in-class serviceParticipate in market advocacy to enhance client experience and manage risk

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Bachelor’s DegreeAt least 10 years of work experience in the financial services industry with at least 5 years of experience in Custody Operations related roleKnowledge of Indian capital market and FPI regulationsStrong stakeholder and relationship management skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to manage multiple priorities and work under pressureStrong leadership and team management skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Experience in regulatory and corporate compliance activitiesKnowledge of corporate and investment bank productsExperience in Designated Depositary Participant (DPP) will be a plus
