Classification: Full Time/Hourly
Employee reports to Operations Manager and Assistant Operations Manager.
General Statement of job: Professional application of chemicals and fertilizer.
Hours of work are 8AM to 4:30 PM, Monday— Friday (Most Saturdays during busy season) (maybe some Sundays) (2500 — 2600 hours estimated per year) (Many 16 hour days during busy season.)
List of duties:
Relating to Spray/Spreader Truck Operator:
To be able to operate computer driven VRT equipment, monitors and guidance systems etc.
To be able to follow hand drawn maps, aerial maps or verbal instructions to locate fields.
To be able to calculate mixtures rates, totals used, etc.
To complete the custom spray and spreader log books accurately.
To complete load outs accurately.
To keep informed of chemicals name changes and what crops they are used for.
To have the ability to operate the custom trucks efficiently while applying product in the field.
To follow all DOT record keeping requirements.
Relating to operations of Belleville plant food Blend Shed:
To calculate plant food orders.
To blend and deliver plant food.
To unload trucks bringing in plant food.
To answer phone and meet and serve customer needs that come into the facility.
To be able to safely handle NH3, understand toolbar systems and monitors.
Relating to maintenance of equipment at Belleville location:
To have and maintain a personal supply of basic tools.
To have an average ability to weld and cut with a cutting torch.
Other duties as a Company Employee:
Displays good judgement, positive attitude, and enthusiasm in dealing with Customers and Employees.
Projects a good image of the Company in personal appearance and personal habits.
3. Maintains and active interest in self-development and personal improvement.
4. Lends support to Farm Bureau and affiliated Companies.
Attends meetings as required. Promotes safety at all times. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To display a pleasant and outgoing personality which compliments the duties of sales, clerical, and operational functions. "CDL" Drivers License with ability to properly operate a semi or tandem truck and to be able to operate the custom truck efficiently.(CDL= Class A/HAZMAT/TANKER/AIR BRAKESA/COMB.VEHICLE) To have an average mechanical ability. To have an acceptable level of mathematics ability. To have a "readable" handwriting ability and an ability to spell words correctly. To have no allergies to plant food dust or chemicals. To maintain a current custom AG Chem Pesticide License
