Position Purpose
Work with external CHEP customers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to provide value-added machinery design solutions that proactively eliminate potential pallet/machinery interface interferences before equipment installation. Goal is to improve customer productivity and throughput (OEE) through proactive machinery design while reducing product and pallet damage.Engage OEMs, integrators, and equipment installers to provide value-added solutions that help resolve pallet and machinery interface challenges before installation to maximize customer ROI and CHEP value.Scope

Responsible for partnering with CHEP manufacturing and retail customers as well as internal teams to deliver value-added solutions that resolve pallet and machinery interface challenges at customer facilities. May include but not limited to:Lead and/or support customer automation teams in alignment with OEMs, integrators, and equipment installersLead and/or support OEM automation design teams in developing effective machinery solutions for handing pooled pallet variability with minimal potential jams and system stops.Ability to read and understand engineer technical drawings and recommend design updates and participate in technical design reviews.Develop viable design modifications to mitigate pallet flow issues and machinery downtime.Collaborating with customers in drafting RFPs and RFQs for solutions offers as neededConduct Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) at customer sites to identify root causes of pallet and machinery interface issues.Lead teams in the collection and analysis data of real time data relative to equipment downtime and throughput to establish baseline dataMonitoring and aiding to enhance the site's efficiency and output (OEE) while minimizing damage to products and palletsTrack and update internal and external contacts on improvement value as it appliesLead and or support regular updates to business leadership on individual projects and overall program progress as neededProvide expertise & “Lessons Learned” to support the customer’s vision to seamlessly use pooled pallets in automationDirect internal project teams and/or customer teams to facilitate the development of value-added solutions for the customers to help sites better utilize CHEP pallets in the facilitiesFacilitate Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen project teams at the customer sites as neededConduct Network Value Mapping to aid Sales in identifying optimum product and services solutions for the customer sitesLead, coach and manage individual and team performance in line with business and personal objectives to ensure people capability and contribution is maximizedMeasures

Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field, preferably one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Structural Engineering.Project Management training and/or certification desirable.Six Sigma Certified: Black Belt preferred, Green Belt.Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001.Experience
