JOB SUMMARY The Customer Database Engineer will be crucial in ensuring a clean customer data environment, supporting analysts and data scientists in managing data and implementing machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong data engineering skills, including the design and development of data pipelines for seamless data ingestion. This role will work closely with our IT and eCommerce partners to ensure customer data from all channels is centralized and pristine. This individual will also ensure data validation to maintain high accuracy and quality, align data sources using data science skills for actionable insights, and apply business analysis and data analytics to define metrics that support organizational goals. Additionally, proficiency in cloud management is essential, including the ability to provision and manage cloud resources effectively with a focus on cost management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data warehouse solutions: Designing, configuring implementing, and maintaining Snowflake cloud data warehouse solutions
Performance monitoring: Monitoring Snowflake performance and proactively modifying Snowflake objects for optimal storage and processing utilization
Data integration: Supporting data integration processes by handling ETL activities. QA processes and monitor for any points of failure
Database configuration: Configuring warehouses, databases, and other Snowflake objects
Construct complex SQL queries and work with other data extraction, reporting, and analytic tools to support the development of Ad Hoc queries
Assist QA resources with the definition of test cases and setup of scenarios for QA testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Security and compliance: Implementing and managing data encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms
Technical support: Providing technical and consultative support to partner teams
Process improvements: Identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements including Machine Learning (ML) solutions
Documentation: Authoring and maintaining internal documentation
Stays up-to-date on the latest Snowflake features and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and working knowledge of Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.
o Familiarity with additional programming languages is a plus.
Possesses strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing requirements.
Practices excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
Self-starter that can work independently.
