Responsible for a variety of activities associated with the installation and maintenance of distribution and transmission pipelines to include directing crew members.

Principal Accountabilities:
Performs a variety of activities as Lead:
Coordinates work to be performed at the job site
Ensures safety procedures are followed
Ensures equipment and materials are operational and available to perform tasks
Prepare and submit reports
Inspects work of contractors
Demonstrates proper procedures to crew members
Performs a variety of activities as working member of the Utility crew:
Displays the proper caution and traffic control signs
Locates line leaks and performs repairs
Performs tasks associated with annual valve survey and maintenance programs
Performs leak surveys
Fuse plastic pipe
Purge pipelines
Install leak clamps
Change stop-cocks
Performs related functions to include:
Call-out for emergencies
Other duties as assigned and required
Basic Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma or a GED
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude
Basic math skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Safety awareness
Commercial driver’s license (CDL)
Previous related experience required.
Working Conditions:
Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
Must work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; flexible work schedule; lifting up to 100 lbs; frequent bending, stooping, standing, digging, climbing; long periods of walking and standing; works on uneven terrain, many times with heavy vegetation; manual dexterity (hand/eye coordination); keen eyesight; good hearing; good sense of smell; comes in frequent contact with insects and animals.
