Job Summary

We are looking for a Customer Grocery Strategy Manager NZ. This role is pivotal in uplifting customer experience and engagement, ensuring that customer-centric thinking is embedded in every area of the organization.

The Customer Strategy Manager will support the Head of Grocery Customer Strategy in developing and executing strategies that drive customer satisfaction and business growth. If you are passionate about strategy development, innovative partnerships, commercializing sustainability, and integrating customer DNA into the business, this role is for you.

Role Responsibilities:

Support the Head of Grocery Customer Strategy in gaining strategic alignment both internally (with key stakeholders in Marketing, CSP, CMI & Customer Operations / Supply Chain) and externally with the Customer to build the JBP that delivers a triple win for the customer, shopper, and Unilever.

Input into the creation of 3-year customer strategy through bringing the customers own strategic agenda into Unilever, working with Unilever stakeholders to ensure a customer centric approach.

Generate and own the Pulse Plan which feeds into the of the execution of the grocery strategy in-store, partnering with the Grocery Execution Lead and CBD Business Unit Leads on Woolworths, and taking the lead on Foodstuffs and field teams.

The guardian of Commercialising Sustainability.

Network with company stakeholders and business leaders to develop better strategies for customer experience.

What you will need to succeed

Experience & Qualifications

2+ Years in FMCG Account Management.

Experience on either Coles, Woolworths or Independent Grocery in a Customer Manager capacity.

Two to three roles in Customer Marketing/Trade Category Management and Account Management / Field Sales.

Skills

Category Growth Management - Confidently participates in the Unilever Strategy and Innovation planning process, providing clear direction to CSP & CBD on the customers strategic priorities and category white space opportunities.

Channel Mastery - Partners with customers and contributes to building sound Joint Business Plans. Regularly communicates external needs and issues to internal stakeholders.

Digital commerce – good understanding of the digital commerce landscape and the different approaches required to serve each customer.

Customer relationship – synchronises customer and Unilever major strategic activities that are potentially unique to the individual customer. Drives alignment across customer & Unilever businesses.

Selling – understands the needs of their customers and creates compelling propositions that align with them.

Executional excellence – understands the customers supply chain expectations and deploys activities in-store partnering with the Grocery Execution Lead.

Leadership

You are energized by delivering fantastic results. You are an example to others – both your results and your resilience. You are constantly on the lookout for better ways to do things, engaging and collaborating with others along the way.
