Job Description NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service. The Customer Operations Division has oversight of the DDOF Business Centers, City Register’s Office, and the Land Records, Adjudication, and Collections divisions. Customer Operations is charged with the processing of tax payments, parking violations payments, and all other charges collected by DOF. The division is also responsible for recording property transfers, adjudicating parking and camera violations, and managing the full life cycle of the department’s enforcement activities related to unpaid business and excise taxes, parking fines, and Environmental Control Board summonses. Adjudications is responsible for conducting hearings on all parking and camera violations issued in New York City. It hosts in-person hearings in DOF's Business Centers in all five boroughs and also conducts hearings by mail and by web. The Customer Service Support Representative position in the Bronx Business Center Adjudications will be responsible for the following: - Assisting respondents entering the Business Center with various clerical functions including ECF creation, printing summons copies and other documents, directing the public through the adjudications process, providing instruction on how to complete various forms, and handing out decisions. - Entering and updating decisions in the computer to complete the adjudication process. - Researching summons or plate status when requested by the respondent. - Picking up the judges' folders at the end of each adjudication day and picking up the daily DMV log; sorting and maintaining these files in a system that can be easily retrieved upon request by Supervisor and DOF staff; and preparing daily folders for each judge as required. - Arranging records to be shipped to the warehouse and maintaining the records for quality control. - Preparing and maintaining the monthly assignment/lunch coverage calendar for the clerical staff. - Ordering of supplies including bulk copies of the Business Center documents. - Answering telephone calls, filing, and other general office work. - Assisting the Supervisor with special assignments and projects in the Unit/Division as needed. Qualifications Qualification Requirements A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience. Skills Requirement Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
