Customer Service Representative

Position Summary: 

Under the direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle, provides outstanding customer service to patients of Signature Medical Group. 

Location: 680 Centre Street, Brockton, MA 

Department: Revenue Cycle

This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position  

 

Responsibilities: 

Research patient accounts   Verify insurance as needed  Research and answer patient questions  Receive payments from patients, Registration staff, and others as required    Work self-pay reports as assigned  Identify trends and bring to attention of Director for review  Set up budget plan accounts, discount payment applications   Prepare write off requests or financial data changes       Research returned mail correspondence (i.e. bad address and mail return questions)  Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and      fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.  

1.  Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external). 

2.  Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, 

 values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed. 

Participates in LEAN program continuous performance improvement program training and leads staff in utilizing LEAN concepts and methodologies.    Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE: 

High school diploma or equivalent  Previous customer service/billing experience in a healthcare environment required  PC knowledge   Effective written and oral communication skills;  Excellent skills in de-escalating difficult patient calls

Education:  High School Diploma or Equivalent  Experience: Previous customer service/billing experience in healthcare environment preferred  Certification/Licensure: N/A  Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office and IDX preferred  Other: N/A
