Customer Service Representative
Job Summary: The Customer Service Representative is to perform the duties involved in handling a variety of account inquiries from patients, responsible parties, persons representing patients, employees or insurance companies. The Customer Service Representative is expected to handle patient and payor inquiries and requests, assist with patient walk-ins and take actions related to patient account resolution. The Representative will take patient payments, set up payment arrangements and reconcile the cash drawer daily. Qualifications: Completion of 12th grade (high school) or equivalent. At least six months of prior billing and or collections experience, hospital experience preferred. Strong conversational skills. Strong analytical skills. Knowledge of insurance principals and practices. Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and commercial and managed care payors. Collection techniques. 40WPM typing. Ability to deal with public in tactful but forceful manner. Data entry ability. EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability
