Summary

IMMEDIATE HIRING!  Position Title:  Guest Services Usher/Ticket Scanner– Part-Time.  Usher/Ticket Scanners are responsible for providing excellent guest service at Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center (FCEC) events which includes conventions, social events, concerts and other events.  Incumbent should be a self-starter that is able to operate under minimal supervision to accomplish work tasks such as:  assist patrons at sporting events, conventions, and entertainment ticketed events by performing duties such as greeting guests, collection of admission tickets and passes from patrons, assisting in finding seats, searching for lost articles, and locating such facilities as restrooms and ATM machines, etc.  This is a Part-time, event-based and hourly position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greet guest as they enter with a smile & great attitudeResponsible for scanning tickets and ensuring all guests have a proper ticket/credential upon entryProvide guests with friendly and accurate directions while in FCEC VenuesCheck tickets for guests attempting to access their section/assist them in locating their seatResponsible for questions, information requests and commentsPerform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, without the loss of efficiency or composureUse excellent customer service skills and positive attitude when interacting with guests, vendors, and employeesComplete all assigned tasks within the guidelines a & deadlines set by Directors, Managers and SupervisorsEffectively and calmly interact with challenges or emotional guests and employeesAbility to memorize, recollect, and quickly retrieve relevant informationAlways follow all operating policies and procedureMaintain company confidentialityOther duties as assigned from time to time to achieve event success

Education and/or Experience          

High school diploma or equivalentAt least 18 years of ageOne (1) year prior customer service experience, preferably in sports/entertainment venue environment, but not required

Skills and Abilities  

Reliable, punctual, and regular in attendance with effective communications skillsMust have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shiftsMust have the ability to read, write and understand English in a working environmentFriendly, outgoing personalityAbility to take directions well and work well with co-workers and managementMust maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance that always conveys professionalismNo visible tattoos, facial piercings, unnatural hair colors (i.e. blue, pint, etc.)Must be available to work at least a good portion of events per month; including being available for events on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays

Work Conditions

Walking & standing occurs 90% of the time (4-6 hours per shift)  Employees may be assigned to work positions located outside.  Employees will be assigned to work any and all shifts.  Employee should use precautions & follow safety guidelines
