**Job Summary**
Our Microbial Solutions team in Charleston, SC is looking for a Customer Service Representative. This position is Monday - Friday 830am-5pm. In this role the Customer Service Representative I will provide dependable, quality customer service, including response to product line
inquiries, efficient order processing, handle routine phone inquiries.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Answer phone and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
* Communicate price quotations and requests for general product information via phone, fax, and mail.
* Compose necessary correspondence.
* Take orders by phone and process per company operating procedures, including processing of completed orders and filing of same.
* Using computer system, enter orders into order entry system; enter changes to existing orders; establish new customer accounts; and fax order
confirmations.
* Interact with packing, shipping, labeling and inspection areas to effectively process orders and satisfy customer requirements.
* Pick up mail from mailbox; open and distribute mail. May occasionally be required to conduct business for the company at the post office,
bank or other off-site location.
* Perform all other related duties as assigned.
**Job Qualifications**
* Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)/ Business course work or equivalent in related discipline.
* Experience: None
* Certification/Licensure: None
* Other: Customer Service/Order entry, keyboarding accuracy and speed, excellent verbal communication skills, P2000 and order enter/AS400,
Lotus, Microsoft Windows software.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly required to talk, hear, type at a computer and typewriter.
* Must be free of hearing impairment which would prevent effective and efficient management of customers by phone.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
* Position requires mobility for the purpose of filing in 4-drawer standard file cabinets, standard office supply cabinets, and use of standard floor
model copy machine.
* Ability for unrestricted movement among departments, outside sidewalk and by automobile for the purpose of transacting business at off-site
locations
**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
* General office working conditions.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
**Compensation Data**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $22.00. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and location.
