Objectives of the Position

 

The Customs Functional & Process Design Specialist coordinate business requirements in Customs & Foreign Trade for the corresponding region in close cooperation with Customs Operations and Information Services (IT/IS). In this role it is important to design and implement IS tools and systems based on requirements for Customs & Foreign Trade Operations and ensure customs compliance in process design.

 

Main Tasks

 

Customs Ops IS support and design

Design Transactional processes to support any form of savings including duty savings for BASF Group and ensure implementation of necessary related IS solutionsPropose and Optimize the Export and Imports customs declaration process with regards to IS solutionsManage and coordinate Change Request from SC Operations and Business units related to Customs & Foreign Trade topicsSupport any BASF strategic initiatives, including UAT, IS solution, processes definition to ensure smooth implementation in the area of Customs & Foreign Trade

 

Country Customs support

Proactively engages country customs to ensure rollout of globally or regionally defined processesConducts regional knowledge transfer for country customs during the Business Releases

 

Cross functional support and governance

Bundle Expert knowledge and foster cross regional cooperation in Customs & Foreign Trade activities in Supply Chain OperationsCapture and structure all regional operational requirements regarding IS tools and applications, responsible in validating and requesting for projectsSafeguard implementation of customs & Foreign Trade regulations into operational IS applications

 

Requirements

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

 

Working Experience     

3-5 years working experience in customs and foreign trade with a company, preferably with international operationsExperience in Supply chain and/or Export/ImportExperience in deploying IT solutions and processes related to customs & foreign tradeExperience in SAP is a plus, esp GTS and master dataExperience in project management is desirableExperience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) related work is a plusExperience in developing and delivery of training

Good Customs and Foreign Trade knowledgeGood Supply Chain Operations knowledgeGood knowledge in Export/Import OperationsBusiness Application Knowledge (e.g. SAP in OTC Functions)
