CV Sonographer II

JOB SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates office services and related activities. Interacts with physicians and physician offices and Centralized Scheduling. Always behaves in accordance with the Patient Centered Pledge. Always maintains professional appearance and demeanor. Is required to understand and operate multiple computer systems. Reconciles charge errors with Business Office and assists Medical Records staff in gathering required data. Assists with supply acquisition. Is expected to be dependable and responsible and to comply with all personnel policies set forth by Hendrick Medical Center. Performs diagnostic cardiovascular examinations per physician orders and according to department protocols.  Generates preliminary reports for physician interpretation. Reviews physician reports, charts and charges procedures electronically. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care. Effectively interacts with patient and significant others, while maintaining professional standards. Interacts with Cardiologists and referring physicians according to applicable departmental policies regarding critical findings. Exhibits excellent critical thinking skills. Interacts with managers to discuss significant findings, clinical situations, workflow status and equipment malfunctions.  Often works without direct supervision and must have outstanding work ethics and integrity. Must be registered in both Adult Cardiac and Vascular Sonography by ARDMS or CCI. Must acquire CMEs as required by professional registries. Performs non-ultrasound tests including stress tests, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, EKG’s Collaborates with outlying medical facilities to provide cardiac monitoring services

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education High School Diploma Minimum Work Experience 1 year on the job training or graduate of accredited ultrasound school. Required Licenses/Certifications RDCS or RCS in adult echo and RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound or one of these in combination with another ultrasound registry, i.e. general  CPR Supervisory skills including ability to teach and train.  Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Perform all diagnostic cardiovascular procedures that are available in Non-Invasive Cardiology. Master use of all equipment including ultrasound systems, PVR, BP monitors and computer systems. Attends required training programs and staff meetings and completes computer based learning lessons.  Designated Driver No OSHA Category 1 - High Risk
