Overview

At CHI Health Midlands we proudly serve Sarpy County and surrounding areas in Nebraska with patient-focused care. When designing our facility we kept the patient viewpoint in mind setting a tone for a more comfortable less stressful hospital stay. Responsibilities

**Sign on Bonus available to external candidates for part time positions!**

Performs various diagnostic cardiology and/or peripheral vascular exams including but not limited to: Vascular Imaging, Cardiac Imaging and Noninvasive Cardiac TestingCorroborates clinical history and assesses patient for appropriateness of ordered procedureProvides patient education, applies patient relations skills and maintain confidentiality of patients and customers in a safe and professional mannerAssumes responsibility for assigned area, reporting equipment malfunctions and procedure difficultiesIs responsible for completing quarterly mandatory education requirementsAssumes responsibility for personal and professional development through participation in department meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education programsPerforms value-added activities that result in positive customer satisfaction and/or financial performanceParticipates in Quality Improvement and Accreditation activities as assignedParticipates in all safety, security, and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the departmentWhen scheduled on-call, must be able to respond within 30 minutes of notificationMay require light travel or floating to other CHI Health facilities and/or outreach sites as needed to provide staffing support
Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical job training

Licenses & Certifications

Registered as one (or more) of the following:

Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

In Addition

Graduates from a dual cardiac and vascular ultrasound program are eligible for hire and must obtain both their adult echo and vascular registries within 12 months of hire dateBLS certification from the American Heart AssociationMust possess a valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must be familiar with standard cardiac and/or peripheral vascular ultrasound views, equipment, and controlsKnowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiologyKnowledge of basic maintenance and upkeep of equipmentAbility to effectively communicate with team members, physicians, patients, hospital staff, and departmental supervisor in a courteous and professional mannerKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standardsDemonstrates personal traits of motivation, quality, teamwork, professionalism, and integrity. Ability to communicate clearly when explaining purpose of procedure and assuring patient understanding and cooperationAbility to load ultrasound and other diagnostic gear and operate vehicle large enough to accommodate equipment
