CVOR Surg Tech $50/hr
The Cardiovascular Surgical Technician is responsible forproviding assistance to the cardiac surgeon in the cardiovascular operatingroom (CVOR) environment; as well as preparing and providing sterile instrumentsand maintaining the sterilization of surgical equipment, arranging surgicalequipment and adjust medical tools to ensure that the surgical devices arefunctioning properly. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Assists cardiac surgeon before, during, or after anycardiology related procedure or surgery + Prepares the cardiovascular operating room according to casetype, places equipment and supplies in operating room and arranges instruments,according to instructions + Provides sterile instruments under sterile technique to thecardiac surgeon + Understands cardiovascular anatomy and physiology andsurgical techniques + Assists team members to place and position patient on table + Aids team to don gowns and gloves + Maintains supply of fluids, such as plasma, saline, blood,and glucose for use during operation + Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors,cuts sutures, and performs other tasks as directed by the surgeon duringoperation. + Puts dressings on patient following surgery + Counts sponges, needles, and instruments before and afteroperation + Washes and sterilizes equipment, using germicides andsterilizers + Cleans operating room + Performs other duties as assigned/necessary Minimum Requirements: + Surgical Technician certification as applicable per stateand/or client requirement + One year experience as a Surgical Technician in a CVOR(cardiovascular operating room) required + Certification as a Surgical Technician preferred + Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice + Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site + Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements + Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required + Computer proficiency required + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
