Job duties and responsibilities to include:
Assisting physician with direct patient care during procedures in the scrub, circulator, and monitor positions.
Delivers quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to care for adult and geriatric patients.
Assists in emergent conditions using critical thinking skills.
Participates as part of procedure team to provide specific patient care functions such as transport, sheath removal, closure site care, etc.
Participates in providing and assuring informed consent and patient education. Contributes to Carilion Clinic's scorecard, performance improvement activities, and mission.
Actively participates in obtaining desired service line outcome.
Procedures performed:
Education: RCV through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred; Graduate of Allied Health Profession School (RRT, RTT) with board registry/licensure required or Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care or Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
Experience: Interventional Radiology or critical care experience preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Current RTT or RTR status. AHS BLS-HCP required. Required to obtain/maintain AHA BLS based on specific work unit. Must successfully complete AHA ACLS within six months of hire date and maintain current status.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
