**STEEL INSPECTOR** Gibsonton FL FIRST SHIFT **Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician** **Day-to-Day Responsibilities:** + Perform ultrasonic testing on welded steel areas to ensure weld quality, similar to an ultrasound. + Check for holes, cracks, or other issues in the welds. + Conduct shear wave vibration analysis to detect any cracks or malfunctions. + Document inspection results and maintain accurate records. + Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. + Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address any identified defects or issues. **Qualifications:** + Certification in NDT methods (e.g., ASNT Level II or III). + Strong understanding of NDT principles and techniques. + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. + Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. + Good communication and teamwork abilities. **Dimensional Inspector** **Day-to-Day Responsibilities:** + Perform dimensional inspections of machined and fabricated parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, Faro laser measure tool). + Verify that parts meet specified tolerances and dimensions according to engineering drawings and specifications. + Read and understand large blueprints, including codes and symbols. + Take measurements from blueprints and check dimensions and angles on the finished product. + Document inspection results and maintain accurate records. + Identify and report any deviations or non-conformances. + Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve dimensional issues. **Qualifications:** + 5+ years of fitting exp. + Experience in dimensional inspection and use of precision measuring instruments. + Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. + Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. + Good communication and teamwork abilities. **Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)** **Day-to-Day Responsibilities:** + Inspect and verify welding processes to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME). + Review welding procedures, qualifications, and welder performance. + Conduct visual inspections of welds and perform non-destructive testing as required. + Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports. + Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. + Provide guidance and training to welders and other personnel on welding best practices. **Qualifications:** + Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS). + In-depth knowledge of welding processes, materials, and standards. + Strong observational and analytical skills. + Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills. **Additional Information** **Pay:** + $24-$30 + per hour (pending experience). **Shift:** + Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (with overtime, currently working 40-48 hours per week). **Location:** + Gibsonton, Florida, United States. **Work Environment:** + Open-air garage type of environment (Bay). + Outdoor, not climate controlled, with big fans. + Hot and dusty conditions. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
