Location(s): Bedford, MA or McLean, VA
In Office Requirements: Hybrid onsite for 2 or 3 days per week
Clearance Requirement: Students will be submitted for a Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Cyber Assessments department aims to improve cybersecurity posture across a broad spectrum of systems, both domestic and international. We strive to identify and analyze vulnerabilities, enhance cyber defensive capabilities, and continuously innovate cyber technologies to improve assessment methodologies. Our goal is to enable our stakeholders to safeguard the integrity of their operations and protect sensitive information while contributing to national and global security.
As an Intern working in cyber or information security, you will work with a team to apply your knowledge and gain experience with one or more of the following:
+ Adversary emulation
+ Deception and adversary engagement
+ Cyber effects and reverse engineering
+ Cyber forensics
+ Cyber threat intelligence
+ Operational technology engineering and response
+ Internet of Things and mobile device security
+ Engineering and architecting safe, secure, and resilient systems
+ Cyber policy
Additionally, you will be involved in:
+ Constructing natural language processing models (mostly neural networks written in Tensorflow) for sorting and categorizing text for a cybersecurity tool.
+ Implementing automated testing for existing NLP models.
+ Implementing NLP workflows in a Flask based web application using Python.
+ Designing and developing user interface.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Sustained excellence in academic performance
+ Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Computer Science or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
+ Proficiency in one or more of the following - Java, Python, C, C++
+ Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and NumPy.
+ Working knowledge of Source Control systems (e.g., Git).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated interest in serving the public
+ Interested in learning about cyber security principles, tools and frameworks, such as OWASP, NMAP, and ATT&KC.
+ Experience with cloud (e.g., Amazon Web Services) and/or RESTful architectures.
+ Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Maven, Jenkins).
+ Experience with Virtual Machines and Containers (e.g., Docker, K8s).
+ Experience with AI/ LLM technologies
+ A desire to continually learn and master new technologies
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
