Cyber Risk Digital Trust & Online Protection Senior Consultant
Role Overview The Digital Trust & Online Protection Professional will advise clients in developing, managing, and implementing policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure a safe, compliant, and trustworthy environment for our users. This individual will scale and mature digital trust and safety processes, including content compliance, user protection, and regulatory adherence across our platforms for our clients. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, this role will monitor regulatory changes, manage risks, and enhance our organization's approach to content safety, user trust, and online integrity. Key Responsibilities + Trust & Safety Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of trust and safety compliance programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices in content moderation, user protection, and online safety. + Policy and Procedure Implementation: Create, refine, and enforce policies and procedures that promote a safe and compliant environment. Implement clear guidelines and training for content moderation and user interaction. + Regulatory Compliance Management: Stay updated on relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, Digital Services Act), and ensure that our platforms meet compliance standards. Interpret regulatory updates and integrate changes into existing policies and procedures. + Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct ongoing and statutory risk assessments for potential trust and safety issues, and establish strategies for mitigating content-related risks, user safety concerns, and compliance vulnerabilities. + Incident Response & Reporting: Lead incident response for trust and safety-related concerns, including content breaches, safety violations, and regulatory non-compliance. Collaborate with legal and PR teams to manage communications and resolution. + Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work cross-functionally with legal, policy, product, operations, data protection, and engineering teams to address trust and safety needs, implement solutions, and communicate best practices. + External Regulatory Engagement: Assist and advise with on-going communications with external regulators through RFI responses and proactive regulatory updates + Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training sessions to enhance awareness of trust and safety policies across the organization. Provide subject matter expertise on compliance and risk management principles. + Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data and analytics to monitor trust and safety program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make evidence-based recommendations. Key Qualifications + Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Information Security, Compliance, Public Policy or a related field. Master's degree or specialized certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CSRM, CISSP) are preferred. + Experience: 5-8 years of experience in trust and safety, compliance, content moderation, or a related field, with proven experience managing online safety initiatives and regulatory requirements. + Ability to travel 25-75%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve + Preferred Skills: + Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to online safety and content compliance (e.g., GDPR, COPPA, Digital Services Act, Online Safety Act). + Strong knowledge of GRC capabilities, risk management, control testing, compliance strategy, and data protection laws. + Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations to operational practices. + Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. + Familiarity with trust and safety tools and technologies, including content filtering, monitoring, and user protection software. + Limited immigration sponsorship may be available Information for applicants with a need for accommodation: https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/careers/articles/join-deloitte-assistance-for-disabled-applicants.html The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $107,925 to $197,863. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
