Position Summary:

We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Fasteners and Engineered Products Division IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in maintaining and improving the security posture of our organization by identifying potential security risks, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in cybersecurity principles and technologies, basic analytical and problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within the cybersecurity field.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing alongside the PCC IT Security team to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities in our systems and applications.Support the analysis of security data and reports to identify and respond to security incidents, breaches, and other cybersecurity threats.Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard our systems and data against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.Participate in security awareness training and education programs to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance across the organization.Collaborate with other teams to implement and maintain security controls, technologies, and best practices to protect our systems and data.Assist in monitoring and evaluating new cybersecurity technologies and trends to ensure that our security posture is up to date and effective.Provide technical assistance to other teams on security-related issues, including incident response and security architecture.Answer Division helpdesk calls, solicit proper information from users and input information into automated helpdesk system.Manage outbound equipment shipments for Division IT group.Support front line support task for users, such as: password resets, updating proxy system, and other daily support task that occur in the Division IT department.Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues.Configure, optimize, fine-tune, monitor OS software and servers.Perform system backups and recovery.Configure and deploy servers.Manage the VM infrastructure.Manage inventory assignments and updates for Division IT department.

 Required Skills and Experience:

Experience in working with information security or other relevant work experience.Knowledge of penetration testing, network security, and the techniques used to expose and correct security flaws.A broad understanding of security technologies including firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus software, and IDPs.The ability to identify and spotlight vulnerabilities on on-premises and remote networks, correct problems, and prevent security breaches.Responsibility and conscientiousness, including proper management of patches to minimize business impact while keeping security protocols up to date.The ability to think critically and innovatively about the security solutions that can keep data safe while still allowing a business to flourish.Strong and well-developed verbal and written communication, collaboration, and time management skills.Demonstrates excellent prioritization, planning, and project management skills.Knowledge and understanding of networking concepts, OSI model.Ability to take direction well and be a motivated self-starter.Must be willing to learn and stay abreast of new technologies and different system environments.Must be analytical and methodical in carrying out task and work assignments.Attention to detail is a must along with the ability to reproduce successful, measured results.Detailed oriented – Accurate, thorough, strong work ethic, and be driven to provide a quality solution.

 

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree bachelor’s degree in computer science or an educational equivalent.2 to 5 years’ experience providing administrative support in a technical environment.1 to 2 years’ experience in Cyber Security.
