Cyber Security Engineer
Immediate need for a Cyber Security Engineer to work for a large, privately held, organization at their campus in Northern IL.
Position Title: Cyber Security Engineer (Also have openings within Security Administration) Employment Type: Long-Term Contract / Contract-to-Hire Location: Northern, IL - Candidates must be willing to work on-site Target Pay Rate: $75/Hr W2
Position Summary:
Manage and support the enterprise, specifically with enterprise network security, network segmentation, vulnerability management, and best practices for overall IT Security.

Position Functions: 25% - Provide direction for the secure operation of the enterprise, focusing on security components, risk management, and controls same as Tech/Ops Lead minus the leadership 25% - Provide support and engineering for firewalls, network segmentation technologies, web proxies, email proxies, cloud environments, and IDS/IPS 15% - Conduct periodic security architecture reviews on existing security technologies to offer actionable recommendations for improvements, and remediations where needed 15% - Work with enterprise architects, network engineers, and developers to design optimal security practices for supporting new and existing business processes / applications same as Tech/Ops Lead 10% - Mitigate security risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business same as Tech Lead 10% - Provide support for daily support requests as required
Additional Responsibilities: Communicate technical application security concepts to business users, developers, architects, and managers Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the discovery and investigation of critical security vulnerabilities Provide detailed risk and remediation guidelines, as well as perform remediation activities where applicable Ability to interact with technical managers and development teams to articulate requirements and processes while collaborating on design options, implementation, testing and user acceptance Demonstrated ability to develop metrics, perform critical analysis, and develop executive decision support content
Required Experience: Bachelor's Degree required or relevant experience preferred 5+ years' experience in IT in large to enterprise level organizations 2+ years' experience in IT Security in large to enterprise level organizations CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), Security+, or related information security certifications are preferred Experience in PCI compliance, or similar compliance frameworks Familiarity with enterprise level network architecture and topologies Experience with Cloud and hybrid Cloud / On-premises security designs Experience in a large enterprise corporate environment
