SECURITY TEAM LEAD

HOW A SECURITY TEAM LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Provide supervision and oversight to the IT Security team.Provide leadership in the analysis of IT security issues and the development and implementation of the IT security policy.Lead the development and implementation of program goals, policies, objectives, strategies, and procedures for program-wide information security.Assess and identify major program-wide cross-cutting security initiatives and provide leadership and direction of these activities.Direct staff in keeping abreast of information security programs, risk management analysis and assessment, contingency planning, IT strategic and tactical planning, and other related fields.Serve on senior-level interagency panels and committees concerned with government-wide and Departmental IT security programs.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Experience:

5 years of demonstrated experience providing technical support to high-level executives, troubleshooting a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Proven team leadership experienceExcellent oral and written communications skills.Comprehensive knowledge APT actors; their tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)Knowledge of TCP/IP communications & knowledge of how common protocols and applications work at the network level, including DNS, HTTP, and SMBWorking knowledge of network infrastructure, cloud computing and security monitoring tools.Demonstrated adaptability, analytical and problem-solving, and attention to detail.Experience managing cases with enterprise SIEM or Incident Management systemsFamiliarity with Federal and DoD security standards such as NIST, DCID, CNSS and DoD 8500.Experience in implementation of ITIL practices and ISO 2700 family of standards.Knowledge of information security event monitoring and detection and incident responseExperience with Intrusion Detection Systems and Intrusion Protection Prevention (IDS or IPS) - understanding the functionality and deployment configuration and analysisHands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigationsExperience with integrating and operating vulnerability scanning and security monitoring toolsMust have active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification

Security Clearance Level:

Ability to obtain and maintain an NIH Public Trust clearance
