Cybersecurity Engineer

The full Pay Range is $86,100.00 - $160,300.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Additional details regarding BECU Benefits can be found here . **IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:** As a Cybersecurity Engineer at BECU, you’ll play a crucial role in securing and maintaining a seamless enterprise infrastructure that supports our mission of delivering uninterrupted service to our members. You’ll design, implement, and manage solutions across a complex, multi-platform environment, contributing directly to our cybersecurity posture. This position puts you at the forefront of protecting BECU’s systems—from data protection and identity management to enabling disaster recovery—ensuring we stay ahead of potential threats while enhancing our cybersecurity maturity. **This is a single role being advertised across our approved locations (WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA or SC)** **To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC.** If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment. **WHAT YOU'LL DO:** + **Evaluate & Implement Cybersecurity Tools:** Contribute to the evaluation, implementation, and operation of cybersecurity tools and services. Troubleshoot issues, ensuring functionality and stability, and work with peers and management to improve efficiency. + **Lead Incident Response Investigations:** As a frontline forensics’ expert, you will take charge of investigating security breaches from the moment they are detected. You’ll ensure the immediate containment of threats and lead efforts to trace and mitigate the attack. + **Adapt Policies & Standards:** Help enhance and adjust BECU’s policies, standards, and guidelines to keep up with evolving threats and technologies. + **Analyze & Resolve Issues:** Perform root cause analysis on cybersecurity tooling issues, ensuring thorough follow-through and resolution. + **Identify Upgrades & Gaps:** Pinpoint necessary upgrades to products and platforms while identifying operational gaps. Contribute to the development of performance and security metrics based on technology usage. + **Proactive Monitoring & Defense:** Run monitoring, alerting, and escalation tasks for cybersecurity events, staying ahead of threats with a proactive, defensive approach. + **Operate Security Tools Across Platforms:** Support cybersecurity operations across cloud, mobile, on-prem, and co-location platforms using digital-first strategies and industry best practices. + **Document Processes:** Develop and validate documentation for the processes and procedures related to Cybersecurity tooling, ensuring clarity and consistency. + **Support Infrastructure Controls:** Assist in the implementation of controls and requirements for cybersecurity across all compute and storage platforms and contribute to process development for integrating cybersecurity tools. + **On-Call Support & Incident Response:** Provide on-call support as needed and participate in the Security Incident Response Team to ensure quick resolution of security events.
