SKILLS & ABILITIES: + Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct team members towards project goals. Candidate should be able to inspire respect and confidence from team members and other stakeholders. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in clear and concise terms. Candidate should be able to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, both internally and externally. + Deep understanding of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools to secure and monitor network traffic. + Knowledge of antivirus, antimalware, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions. + Expertise in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, including the use of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools. + Experience with IAM solutions like Active Directory, LDAP, and SSO. + Understanding of regulations and frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, and ISO 27001. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: + Perform cybersecurity reviews of five (5) projects per week. + Make recommendations for innovative ways to minimize risk while still meeting the R&D mission. + Evaluate R&D IT projects from both a technical and policy Cybersecurity perspective. + Identify risks that require mitigation. + Mentor team members, providing guidance on technical issues, career development, and professional growth. + Coordinate with Program Manager to manage cybersecurity projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. + Develop and maintain an incident response plan, ensuring the organization is prepared to respond to security incidents effectively. + Oversee or conduct penetration testing and red teaming exercises to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. + Review and provide guidance on the security architecture of systems, networks, and applications to ensure they are secure by design. EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS: + Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field + CISSP + CISM EXPERIENCE: + Strong project management experience in the following areas is desired: + Proficiency with project management fundamentals, e.g., work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports + Project-level P&L financial responsibility + 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity team lead role.
