**GENERAL DUTIES**
I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

**CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION**
The Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS) at the City University of New York (CUNY) supports the IT and telecommunications needs of CUNY's 26 colleges. CIS supports enterprise IT and applications, develops new technologies that advance the University's core mission, builds, upgrades and maintains the University's network, operates the University's Data Center and Service Desk and manages the processes of safeguarding the University’s IT assets and operates the Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC). Additionally, CIS develops disaster recovery plans for business continuity, maintains the security of the University’s IT assets, and maintains the CUNYfirst Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that integrates student administration, financial management, and human resources operations across CUNY’s 26 colleges. Lastly, CIS provides strategic and operational IT leadership with respect to the maintenance, enhancement, and expansion of the CUNY network spanning across all CUNY campuses.
The CUNY-CIS cybersecurity program focuses on managing processes to safeguard the University's IT assets from potential threats, protecting critical infrastructure. CIS is seeking a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Administrator who will be responsible for securely configuring, maintaining, and managing Ivanti systems to mitigate security vulnerabilities, monitoring system performance, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Reporting to the Associate Director, this role involves implementing security measures to address identified gaps and breaches, managing access controls, supporting strategic initiatives to enhance CUNY's cybersecurity, and protecting sensitive data against evolving threats.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Implements and enforces security policies and protocols for Ivanti Access, ensuring compliance with industry standards and University requirements.
+ Monitors and assesses system performance and security vulnerabilities in Ivanti environments, conducting regular risk assessments and implementing necessary mitigations.
+ Oversees access management for CUNY systems using Ivanti tools, ensuring proper user and device authentication across the network.
+ Develops and maintains documentation for Ivanti configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring alignment with CUNY IT policies.
+ Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including HR, administration, and third-party consultants, to provide secure access and address resource dependencies.
+ Leads the implementation of security measures to address gaps or breaches identified in CUNY’s IT infrastructure, with a focus on Ivanti systems.
+ Provides technical expertise and guidance to University IT teams on Ivanti solutions, ensuring adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
+ Supports modernization of CUNY’s network infrastructure, leveraging Ivanti tools to enhance security and operational efficiency.
+ Monitors Ivanti system updates and patches, ensuring timely deployment to maintain system integrity and performance.
+ Contributes to strategic cybersecurity initiatives, assisting in the development of plans and solutions to protect CUNY’s sensitive data and IT assets.
**NOTES:**
1. Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
2. **An appointment to this Competitive title/position in the Classified Civil Service Title Series will be made with a Provisional status. Employees in provisional status must pass a competitive civil service examination and be appointed from a civil service list to remain in the title/position.**
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
2. An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
3. Demonstrated English Language proficiency
4. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
Preferred:
+ 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or network security, with specific expertise in managing and securing enterprise systems, including Ivanti solutions.
+ Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNP Security, or Ivanti-specific certifications (e.g., Ivanti Certified Administrator).
+ Strong proficiency in security and network troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, NetFlow analyzers, and Ivanti diagnostic tools.
+ Experience with scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for streamlining administrative tasks and enhancing security configurations.
+ Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP stack, and enterprise network architecture, with an emphasis on security implementations.
+ Demonstrated expertise in security event log analysis and experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for monitoring and responding to threats.
+ Proficiency with network scanning, endpoint management, and vulnerability assessment tools, including Ivanti solutions and equivalent platforms.
+ Knowledge of cloud-based identity and access management (IAM) systems, including Microsoft Azure AD, MFA, and Enterprise SSO/Federation solutions.
+ Familiarity with web and application server platforms (e.g., Apache, NGINX, IIS, Tomcat) and their integration with security protocols.
+ Experience in supporting cross-platform environments, including UNIX/Linux and Microsoft Windows, within an enterprise setting.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple security tasks in a complex, fast-paced environment.
