Cybersecurity Program Manager (Federal Healthcare Sector)


We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Program Manager with a background in federal healthcare environments to oversee and lead complex cybersecurity programs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation in IT systems, network security, and hands-on cybersecurity practices, along with leadership skills to manage a team of IT consultants. In this role, you will guide a team responsible for safeguarding critical infrastructure and healthcare data, ensuring robust security measures and compliance with federal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the cybersecurity program for federal healthcare systems, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive data.

Lead a team of IT consultants, providing direction, mentorship, and technical support to achieve program objectives.

Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, controls, and standards that align with federal healthcare regulations and guidelines.

Communicate security risks, incidents, and findings effectively to stakeholders, translating technical information into actionable insights.

Manage all aspects of the program lifecycle, including scope definition, planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk assessment.

Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, such as FISMA, HIPAA, and other relevant frameworks.

Coordinate with other departments and external stakeholders to facilitate collaborative efforts on cybersecurity initiatives.

Respond effectively to security incidents, coordinating quick resolutions and adjustments to security protocols.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years in cybersecurity or IT, with a focus on network security, including experience in program management or project management within a federal healthcare environment.

Certifications: PMP or CISSP, CISM may qualify in lieu of CISSP

Skills and Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of IT systems, network security, and the unique cybersecurity challenges in federal healthcare.

Proven track record in project management, with the ability to oversee complex, multi-faceted projects under strict deadlines.

Excellent leadership abilities, with experience managing and mentoring IT teams.

Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with knowledge of current threats, tools, and mitigation strategies.

Proven experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

U.S. Citizenship required (required by federal government for position). 

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with federal healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$115,889.00 - $197,011.00
