The Role We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Systems and Data Engineer to work within our Security Architecture function and contribute to the development and oversight of our combined organizations’ data architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deploying data-centric technologies in both cloud and hybrid security environments (both design and operation), developing scalable architectures to support secure data collection, flow, and analysis, collaborating with cybersecurity analysts to identify data requirements, and working knowledge of IT Risk and Data Privacy frameworks. This role will serve as a critical function to protect our company's assets, ensuring the safety of our personnel and maintaining the integrity of our operations. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for working closely with ITS&C leadership team and Architecture Director to develop and stabilize ITS&C’s data and security platforms, maturing the company’s delivery of, and access to, secured data environments, and working with IT and 3rd party vendor teams to deliver new attributes. Working in conjunction with leadership from both the ITS&C and greater IT functions, your team will monitor and improve Legends’ data management and cybersecurity capabilities, help maintain legal, regulatory & GRC requirements, and be supported by ITS&C in your career path toward future roles. We are looking for an individual who is personable, comfortable working within a growing & supportive environment and capable of building processes within new and existing technologies to showcase cybersecurity to IT and company leadership. This position will play a crucial role in continuing to mature Legends’ cybersecurity function toward greater IT Risk Management capabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Implement and maintain data architecture that adheres to industry security standards and best practices + Evaluate and assist with developing new, secure capabilities for data delivery/management between platforms, with a specific focus on developing Data Loss Prevention methods and protections for data in transit, at rest, and under transformation, including improving resiliency for all data storage and backup methods + Ensure the security and privacy of data by implementing robust data encryption and access controls across critical data platforms including Azure Blob Storage, Databricks, SQL, and 3rd party data environments (Infor, Ticketmaster, AXS, Qualtrics) + Perform complex data analysis and triage, suggesting new network flows and architectures + Perform platform and service configuration changes to meet information security requirements + Design and analyze vendor services and data requirements, working independently and with key vendors + Identify improvement opportunities for enhanced network segmentation and protection strategies + Provide Tier III capabilities as needed to help support Operations and GRC teams + Support incident response and trouble resolution on complex issues + Assist in the development of key reporting and communication methods to the Director and client/venue IT personnel + Maintain awareness of trends and development opportunities within security regulatory, technology, and operational requirements Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. Education and/or Experience + B.S. in Technology- or Business-related discipline, or equivalent experience + Strong background and orientation with IT, data transformation, data platform design & cybersecurity requirements + 4-8+ years of experience within IT DB management/operations teams, database administration or cybersecurity functions, including familiarity with on-premises and cloud-based IT environments + Familiarity with a variety of data technologies. Deep experience with scripting and coding languages such as PowerShell, Python, KQL, PHP & SQL + Preference given to CISSP/CISM & related industry or technical certifications (Microsoft, Databricks, AWS) or willingness to pursue. Skills and Abilities + Experience with developing cybersecurity capabilities within IT and Data Privacy frameworks, such as NIST CSF, SOC(x), PCI-DSS and GDPR + Demonstrated capability with developing IT communications to internal/external constituents and executive management teams. + Effective communicator with an ability to translate security analyses into understandable, actionable elements. + Proven ability to work constructively with IT, business and vendor personnel to provide input on improvements to cybersecurity toolsets and techniques. + Solid organization and prioritization skills + Personable approach and ability to work with remote IT company and venue personnel, contributing to a team environment with professionalism. + Strong communication skills, both verbal and written COMPENSATION Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
