Cybersecurity Tradecraft Specialist
Overview SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Cybersecurity Tradecraft Specialist who will support a portfolio of contracts and their personnel and technical infrastructure. The ideal candidate for this position will have a firm understanding of how the internet works and assist in developing practical cyber security mitigations to support secure OSINT research. This position extends beyond a traditional IT support position and requires critical thinking and creativity to identify and mitigate concrete and theoretical risks. Candidates with a background in technical or cyber targeting and operations are of interest. Essential Job Duties Provide user help desk assistance. Procure, configure, issue, update/maintain, and decommission hardware and supporting software accesses. Includes Macintosh, Linux, and Android technology. Includes testing and evaluating software updates for security purposes. Maintain virtual infrastructure, including virtual private servers and proxy connections. Conduct online research and data purchases. Maintain meticulous details related to equipment procurement and accounts. Prepare monthly accounting summaries. Provide training on hardware and software, including preparing PowerPoints and tutorial videos and providing hands-on training. Document standard operating procedures for configuring and maintaining computers and a variety of other tasks. Identify and test OSINT tools. Excellent time management and ability to work relatively independently, while maintaining robust communications with managers and seeking guidance as situations dictate and evolve. Minimum Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. The federal government requires U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain a security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for this position. 2+ years of substantive experience in cyber security, technical targeting, or cyber operations. Proven experience maintaining documentation and tracking with a high-level of detail. Must love spreadsheets and some advanced excel skills are preferred. Experience identifying system failures, documenting issues objectively, and developing proactive solutions. Strong PowerPoint skills, including preparing diagrams of system logic and translating complex topics into pithy, non-technical bullets. Must have a drivers’ license. Preferred Qualifications Active in scope Secret clearance or TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. Existing certifications or degrees related to cyber security or cyber research methodologies. Experience with the Intelligence Community (IC). Experience providing user support for Macintosh products. Experience with Linux OS and VPSs. 2+ years of experience in technical operations or targeting research, ideally including OSINT suites and command line tools. Experience delivering user training. Expertise in technical operations, including pen testing and PCAP analysis. Experience managing administrative aspect of operations, including budgets, approvals, and financial paperwork. Work Environment Office environment, including providing support in multiple locations. Must have a drivers’ license. Must be able to lift 100 lbs to move and setup equipment. This position can include a hybrid work schedule, contingent on continued successful deployment, maintenance of infrastructure and support to contract personnel, and approved workspace.
