Are you a leader and have a passion for Cytology? We are seeking a dynamic Lab Supervisor to join our Cytology department, located in Raritan, NJ!
Cytology Supervisor’s responsibilities and requirements associated with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Cytology Department and the microscopic evaluation of cellular material using established morphologic criteria under the direction of the Cytology Technical Supervisor/Pathologist are specified. This position also functions as an integral member of the team while maintain professional interactions with all staff and offering support to other team members. This position will oversee 10-16 technical employee and will be responsible for providing technical and operational oversight over in the Cytology department.
Schedule: Monday - Friday (between the hours of 6:00am and 7:00pm)
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervision of the screening area and technical oversight of the Cytology laboratory Maintain the qualifications required for quality control for all CytotechnologistsEnsure proper coverage and scheduling to maintain department TAT expectationsMonitor workload allocations to ensure all Cytotechnologist are within compliance regulationsComplete competency trainings and appraisals for the entire Cytology teamPerform inspections and validations of methodology and instrumentationResponsible for statistical compilation and analysis for all work performed in the departmentScreening of all liquid based cytology, both manual and imaged, as well as conventional slidesPerform microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens following laboratory proceduresEnsure proper documentation of workload recording as required by CLIA guidelinesComply with all safety, infection control and HIPAA policiesReview daily workload cases called unsatisfactory by Cytotechnologists and render a final reportScreening of all liquid based cytology, both manual and imaged, as well as conventional slidesDevelop and review Standard Operating Procedures on a consistent basisMaintains the CME documentation for the entire Cytology departmentMaintains Cyto-biopsy correlation and 5 years review of NILMProcess and maintain payroll and personnel filesRequirements:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/universitySuccessful competition of an accredited Cytology programASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is requiredMinimum 6 years of experience as a CytotechnologistThinPrep and Surepath certifications are a plusMaintain the qualifications required for QC Cytotechnologist.
