Responsibilities:

Cleans, maintains and troubleshoots the equipment as described in the procedure manual. Prepares body fluids and fine needle aspirate specimens in accordance with procedure manual. Prepares cell block for histological evaluation. Accession patients on the CoPath system to include all clinical and specimen type-related information. Receives specimens and requisitions, correlates patient information and verifies for accuracy and completeness. Must contact physician when necessary data is incomplete. Files slides, reports and file cards. Fixes, stains and coverslips smeared slides in accordance with procedure manual. Prepares solutions as described in procedure manual Prepares and stains liquid based pap specimens as described in the procedure manual. Miniregisters all outpatients on the Invision system which includes demographics.
