Our full-time employees enjoy a robust benefits package which may include health insurance, 401(k), flexible scheduling, **licensure/certification reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, and student loan assistance for eligible roles.** **Job Summary** Receives and validates all non-gynecologic and gynecologic specimens for appropriate identification, collection and handling, including rejection as necessary to ensure patient safety. **Essential Functions** + Assigns unique identifying number to relate specimen to requisition, computer data entries and reports to maintain unique identity of the specimen and reports. + Follows established protocols to prepare specimens for microscopic evaluation by cytotechnologists and pathologists. Follows proper procedures when prepping specimens for review. + Communicates with clinical personnel to relate collection instructions, verify or obtain patient demographics, and enters billing data and pertinent clinical history to ensure complete, accurate data entry when accessioning specimens. + Maintains accurate records of specimens received and processed using manual and computer-based systems. Adheres to proper patient identification protocols. + Troubleshoots registration, specimen, and labeling problems. + Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment in assigned area. Performs troubleshooting, repair, and modification when necessary. + Disposes of biohazardous waste materials, and maintains chemical waste storage areas. + Establishes needs of working laboratory ensuring an adequate inventory of supplies. + Performs a variety of routine duties following established protocols to assist in laboratory processes, such as: preparing reagents and solutions, repairing slides, triaging specimens, answering the telephone, maintaining accurate charts, etc. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + 1-2 years working in clinical lab preferred **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Knowledge of HIPAA regulations + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail + Knowledge of laboratory and quality control procedures. + Ability to handle multiple, time dependent tasks. + Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and manage projects. **We know it’s not just about finding a job.
