The Opportunity 

The opportunity involves the performance of analytical techniques on specimens from various sources, such as pap smears, sputum, urine, other body fluids, and fine needle aspirates. This includes qualifying samples for testing, evaluating and providing morphological assessment of Immunocytochemistry (ICC) biomarkers for proof of concept, feasibility, verification, and validation studies related to new product development. Additionally, it entails performing and evaluating cytology techniques like Pap staining, providing input on projects, and offering slide scoring across the company as needed. The role also involves maintaining records, suggesting improvements to work processes, and providing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective action for reagent or instrument related issues in sample processing.

Who you are

Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or related field.

Graduated from a CAAHEP (The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited cytotechnology training program.

Cytotechnologist (CT) American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified.

3-5 years Cytology screening and evaluating of gynecologic specimens prepared using ThinPrep, SurePath, and conventional smear

Experience evaluating non-gynecologic specimens

Experience in a laboratory setting

Preferred

Knowledge of Immunocytochemistry (ICC)

Knowledge of clinical testing methods

Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with internal as well as external colleagues

Knowledge of the principles of light microscopy, the operation and maintenance of standard laboratory equipment, and computer skills

Ability to organize, problem-solve, and analyze data, including the ability to follow written procedures and to document work accurately and thoroughly

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision and work in a cross functional team environment

Ability to troubleshoot and make informed accurate assessments

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is $79,500.00 - $147,700.00 USD Annual.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
