Are you a certified Cytotechnologist? Are you a new graduate that has completed a Cytotechnologist degree/certification? If so, LabCorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our Cytology team as a full-time Cytotechnologist in Knoxville, TN!

This will be a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment.  LabCorp has a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.

The schedule for this position will be: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with rotating half Saturdays, 8:00am-12:00pm.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Screen and evaluate any gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens sent to the laboratory for the determination of possible malignant or related abnormal conditionsScreening of all liquid based cytology, both manual and imaged, as well as conventional slidesPerform microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens following laboratory procedures and workload policiesEnsure proper documentation of workload recording, including screening and non-screening activities as required by CLIA and laboratory guidelinesMaintain absolute integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of resultsMeet slide screening requirements as per standard operating procedureFinalize testing results into the computer in an accurate and timely mannerProvide backup for cytology processing and other tasks as neededComply with all safety, infection control and HIPAA policiesAbility to work independently or within a teamHighly organized and strong attention to detailStrong communication skills; both written and verbal

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, Cytology or a related scienceCompletion of Cytotechnology certified programASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is requiredNEW GRADS WELCOME! with completion of requirements aboveHologic, image guided experience preferredThinPrep certification is a plusMust pass slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency testDemonstrated understanding of Cyto preparation techniquesAutomated and non-automated testing experience is preferredFamiliarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
