Job Title: Cytotechnologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing the processing of fluids, preparing specimens for cytology screening, and ensuring accurate patient identification and confidentiality. This role requires the ability to choose proper processing methodologies, perform manual techniques for specimen processing, and assist with EBUS and FNA adequacy procedures.

ResponsibilitiesProcess fluids and prepare specimens for cytology screening.Screen specimens as required.Assist with the screening of EBUS and FNA adequacy procedures.Maintain confidentiality and understand legal/regulatory requirements related to the release of information.Utilize information systems pertinent to the job and perform/document actions according to department procedures.Choose proper processing methodology based on specific tests requested.Prepare smears of fluids and utilize proper techniques for routine staining.Understand correct collection requirements and proper patient preparation.Ensure 100% accurate patient identification of all patients and laboratory specimens.Carry out requests for laboratory testing appropriate to job level.Utilize laboratory computer systems, hospital computer systems, MyNCH, and other relevant systems.Understand the scope of laboratory services and departmental procedures for reporting patient results.Act as a knowledgeable reference for specimens and tests provided by the laboratory.Be flexible in scheduling to meet department needs.Support departmental activities to ensure operational and salary expenses are within the approved budget.Look for opportunities and solutions for process improvements and seek to improve job skills.Review and act on reports as required by the position.Essential SkillsPathologyLaboratoryASCP certificationMicroscopeCell analysisHistologyLicensed as a Cytotechnologist (CT) in the State of FloridaBasic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data, etc.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of Bachelor’s Degree requiredMinimum of 2 years’ experience preferredWork Environment

This position is 100% onsite in North Naples, FL. The work environment includes shift differentials

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $76377.60 - $100817.60

Medical Benefits begin on Day 1 and can add a spouse or children at that time. Dental and vision begin after 90 days. Matching 401(k) at 1 year anniversary of 4% as long as they are contributing at least 6%.
PTO is based on hours worked. Employees start accruing PTO on Day 1 and can take PTO after 90 days. Most 40 hour/week employees will have 21 – 22 days of PTO at the end of their first year.
NCH observes 6 holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas. If an hourly employee works on a holiday they are paid time and a half. If they do not work on a Holiday then they need to use PTO to be paid for the day.
Relocation assistance can be considered on a case-by-case basis
