Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to perform the processing of fluids and preparation of specimens for cytology screening. The role involves screening specimens, assisting with EBUS and FNA adequacy procedures, and maintaining confidentiality and legal/regulatory requirements related to the release of information.
ResponsibilitiesPerform processing of fluids and prepare specimens for cytology screening.Screen specimens as required.Assist with EBUS and FNA adequacy procedures.Maintain principles of confidentiality and understand legal/regulatory requirements related to the release of information.Use information systems pertinent to the job.Perform and document actions taken according to department procedure.Utilize knowledge to perform manual techniques for processing specimens.Choose proper processing methodology based on specific tests requested.Prepare smears of fluids as required.Utilize proper technique involved in routine staining.Understand correct collection requirements and proper patient preparation.Ensure 100% accurate patient identification of all patients and laboratory specimens.Accurately carry out requests for laboratory testing appropriate to job level.Utilize laboratory computer system, hospital computer system, MyNCH, and other computer systems appropriate to job level.Understand the scope of laboratory services appropriate to job level.Assist hospital staff by being a knowledgeable reference for specimens and tests provided by the laboratory.Understand departmental procedures for reporting patient results and maintaining patient confidentiality.Be flexible in scheduling to meet department needs.Actively assist and support departmental activities to ensure that operational and salary expenses are equal to or less than the approved budget.Understand the principles and concepts of Performance Improvement and seek opportunities for process improvements.Review and act on reports as required by the position.Essential SkillsPathologyLaboratoryASCP certificationMicroscopeCell analysisHistologyAdditional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of a Bachelor’s Degree requiredMinimum of 2 years’ experience preferredLicensed as a Cytotechnologist (CT) in the State of FloridaBasic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data, etc.Work Environment
This role is 100% onsite in North Naples, FL. The position includes shift differentials for evening and weekend work. Medical benefits begin on Day 1, with dental and vision benefits starting after 90 days. There is a matching 401(k) plan available after one year, and PTO accrual begins on Day 1. The company observes six holidays, and relocation assistance can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $76377.60 - $100817.60
Medical Benefits begin on Day 1 and can add a spouse or children at that time. Dental and vision begin after 90 days. Matching 401(k) at 1 year anniversary of 4% as long as they are contributing at least 6%.
PTO is based on hours worked. Employees start accruing PTO on Day 1 and can take PTO after 90 days. Most 40 hour/week employees will have 21 – 22 days of PTO at the end of their first year.
NCH observes 6 holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas. If an hourly employee works on a holiday they are paid time and a half. If they do not work on a Holiday then they need to use PTO to be paid for the day.
Relocation assistance can be considered on a case-by-case basis
