D2506 - BFD Plant Engineer
Exempt/Non - Exempt: Exempt Employment Type: Full Time
This role will manage the operations at Bama Frozen Dough
Job Purpose: The engineer is responsible for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all production related manufacturing equipment and processes required to maintain high quality products in a repeatable and cost-effective manner. The engineer works with product development and sales to meet customer requests for new product lines on both new line and existing line modifications. As a change agent this position is accountable for modeling Bama's values and foundational principles.
This position reports to the Plant Manager and is a key member of the plant leadership team. This position also has dotted line accountability to the VP - Engineering and plays a key role in assuring alignment across three food manufacturing plants located in Tulsa, OK.
Role Description and Job Accountabilities:
The Engineer applies engineering tools and knowledge (mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, civil, structural, environmental, economics, maintenance, and ergonomics) to develop, lead, and implement cost savings and cost prevention projects. Additionally, this position uses project management skills (scope, timing, and budget) to define project expectations and deliverable.
Qualifications:
+ Education/Certification Requirements:
+ Engineering degree required. Preferred engineering discipline in mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, chemical, and/or electrical fields
+ Required Skills:
+ Demonstrate the ability to solve problems
+ Available to travel to customer locations when necessary
+ Communicate effectively in verbal and written form
+ 5-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering or technical management within the Food Manufacturing sector (baked goods preferred)
+ 5-10 years of knowledge of refrigeration systems and associated regulatory compliance
+ Strong project management skills
+ Working knowledge of design software - 2D AutoCAD (required), 3D Inventor (desired)
+ Working knowledge of plant safety, quality, sanitation, and environmental requirements
+ Working knowledge/experience of statistical tools, programs and interpretation of data
+ Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls (specifically Allen Bradley)
