Freese and Nichols' is searching for an advanced CAD Technician or CAD Designer experienced in AutoCAD Civil 3D to contribute to rewarding projects in our water resources design group. The candidate will produce 3D models, drawings, and details for heavy civil infrastructure projects on riverbanks, coastal shorelines, dams, spillways, gates, levees, and other water resources structures. The candidate will assist with CAD workload coordination in the group, contribute to interesting projects, and work alongside other CAD technicians and designers, civil engineers, and project managers across the Water Resources Practice. Candidate must work well as part of a design team and communicate effectively. Candidates should have a positive attitude, a high attention to detail, a desire to produce quality work, and a strong work ethic. During the interview process, the candidate may be required to participate in a short and facilitated AutoCAD Civil 3D skills assessment. Compensation will be commensurate to experience.
In this role the candidate will utilize and interpret survey data. Develop complex 3D surfaces and models, cross-sections, grading, alignments and profiles for existing and proposed structures. Prepare accurate construction plans and details (or conceptual figures) with minimal input from Engineer. Interpret sketches and markups provided by design engineers. Collaborate with design engineers in the planning and production of complete set of drawings. Utilize Company CAD standards effectively in addition to update templates, styles, blocks, and any other CAD process for the water resources group’s needs. Provide training and guidance to CAD Staff and engineers on drawing set production, as well as perform quality control on models, drawings, and received materials, such as from survey as well as for project CAD deliverables.
