Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Elk Grove Village site is looking for a new Gateway & Procurement Specialist to join our Air Logistics team. **Your Role** You will be responsible for performing Dangerous Goods (DG) checks on all applicable cross-dock cargo, ensuring compliance with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations and the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and limitations. Your expertise in this area ensures that each shipment is thoroughly inspected and properly classified to meet the safety and regulatory requirements for air transport. With a minimum of five years of experience in international air freight, airline operations, or Ground Handling Agent (GHA) DG acceptance, you bring a deep understanding of managing dangerous goods in air transport. Your possession of a Category 6 (CAT 6) Dangerous Goods (DG) license highlights your advanced knowledge and ability to safely handle and accept dangerous goods. In addition to DG checks, you are also skilled in processing Master Air Waybill (MAWB) consolidations. You are responsible for managing the trade-lane process and overseeing all aspects of the Air Transportation Agreement (ATA) process as needed, ensuring efficient and compliant operations throughout. **Your Responsibilities** + Establish, oversee, maintain, and operate the Dangerous Goods area of the warehouse + After initial Dangerous Goods acceptance check is performed by front-dock; all subsequent 51-point IATA checks to be performed by the Dangerous Goods coordinator on any/ all Dangerous Goods cargo. + Dangerous Goods checks should be in a timely same-day cross-dock manner in order of first-in/first-out + Maintain process of Dangerous Goods handling for the region prioritizing cargo based on temp requirements, planned departure date, etc. + Arrange bookings with carriers; optimize cargo consolidations + Tuesday-Saturday (flexibility for an 8-hour shift within the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm) + Report to the Air Logistics Gateway & Procurement Manager **Your Skills and Experiences** + Category 6 Dangerous Goods License + 5+ years of experience with Dangerous goods- IATA acceptance + Computer proficiency + Good knowledge of international geography including countries, major cities + Solid knowledge of export procedures/documentation, Pharma, Aerospace, Automotive, Semicon etc. is a plus **Good Reasons to Join** At Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues.
