We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect with a strong Data/AI background to partner with our client in the Raleigh-Durham area. + Pay: 80-90/Hr W2 + 6-month contract with possible extension + Hybrid work model, with 3 days/week onsite. **About the Role:** Our client is building a cutting-edge decentralized data platform, empowering individual business units to manage their data within their respective domains. You will play a critical advisory role, collaborating with stakeholders to co-create the platform's roadmap. This includes: + Defining the future state: Identifying key initiatives, strategic goals, desired solutions, and target capabilities. + Gap analysis: Assessing the current platform's strengths and weaknesses to pinpoint areas for improvement. + Data Governance and Security: Focusing on sensitive data management (PII/PHI), including data identification, classification, policy implementation, and data quality management. This includes establishing quality rules, measuring them against thresholds, and publishing results. + Data Catalog Enrichment: Managing and maintaining a central repository of data products, ensuring accurate metadata, accessibility, and thorough documentation. This includes onboarding new data products, partnering with data stewards, and enriching catalog entries. **Key Skills and Experience:** + **Data/AI Expertise:** Proven experience as a consultant in the Data/AI space, ideally with exposure to Generative AI applications and LLMs. + **Roadmap Development:** Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and develop strategic roadmaps. + **Stakeholder Management:** Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with client leaders across various domains. + **Data Governance:** Deep understanding of data governance principles, including security, privacy, and regulatory compliance (especially PII/PHI). + **Data Quality:** Experience in defining, implementing, and monitoring data quality rules. + **Cloud Experience:** Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS. + **Life Sciences/Pharma Domain Knowledge:** A strong understanding of the Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable. **Bonus Points:** + Experience with data cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra). + Experience with data warehousing and cloud ecosystems.
