Data Analyst, Health and Benefits Canada (Night Shift)

This position is responsible for providing support to Canada-based Health and Benefits Consultants. As a member of the North American client team, you will collect, input, and analyze data and qualitative information that informs strategic business decisions. Leveraging the data collection and analysis you’ve conducted, the expectation will be to produce several client-facing reports efficiently and within quality standards.

Your role on individual projects will include elements such as qualitative and quantitative data collection, population, validation and production of extracts, conducting focused analyses, developing summary information for client presentations, developing quarterly and annual reports, and other activities. You will work with both WTW proprietary financial tools and may also work with data and tools from insurance carriers and/or program vendors. You will also contribute to product and process development activities for the practice. As part of this role, you will continually learn about Canadian health and benefits concepts and principles and apply these skills in a global environment. Finally, you will have the opportunity to interact with members of our Canadian Health and Benefits Consulting practice and can contribute to important process improvements and new analytical tools.

This position requires an analytical mind who is detail-oriented with work products and outputs using Microsoft Office tools. The position also requires the ability to accurately execute written and verbal instructions as well as manage priorities to complete deliverables based on agreed-upon timelines. 

The Role

Data Management 

Populate, on a monthly and/or quarterly basis, financial tools, and programs by pulling reports from insurance carriers’ websites or other data sources.  Conduct a quality review of your work and others. Using WTW’s proprietary tools, perform financial analyses such as renewal analyses, plan design alternative cost estimates, and calculate reserves. Accurately produce client-ready reports that show past, present, and future financial impact and utilization of medical, pharmacy, dental, life and disability insurance products offered by Canadian employers as well as producing a plan design summary using contracts, booklet and plan documents. Finalize deliverables by completing various tools to track time spent on the project and ensure the final position of the client is captured in WTW’s tools. For all deliverables, review your own and others’ work product to quickly identify and correct data errors, ensuring all deliverables meet/exceed the WTW excellence and quality standards. Build strong relationships with other data analysts and consultants to collaborate effectively on client projects and internal development activities. Research and provide updates and escalation for client (internal and external) requests. Work with appropriate team members in gaining resolution. Develop and continuously advance your working knowledge of the services provided, such as the end-to-end renewal process including the analysis and report preparation, periodic experience reporting, plan design summaries, drug reporting, disability reporting, experience reporting (premium and claims), financial report reviews, Request for Proposals (RFPs), onboarding/project set-up and Administrative Services Only (ASO) contract reconciliation Support client and internal surveys by accurately compiling and completing both qualitative and quantitative reporting within a defined timeline Data validation, manipulation, and formatting in data management tools (advanced Excel skills are essential; Access and other tools are a plus)  Attend and actively participate in kick off meetings or calls with the consultants to discuss steps and other details on how to complete a specific report.

The Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.Preferably, 1-2 years experience working with benefit programs gained in either a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or at a North American group insurance company (Canadian company support experience is a bonus)Highly Organized and Detail-Oriented: Skilled at identifying inconsistencies and capturing anomalies/errors. Ability to recognize when guidelines exist, find them and execute accordingly.Effective project management skills and an ability to work on multiple projects and strictly adhere to deadlines.Ability to follow and improve existing processes by finding efficiencies and better ways of working.Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed the standards of the client.Client service-oriented with an ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner.Self-starter attitude and ability to establish priorities, work independently and with limited supervision.Intermediate MS Office Excel skills (ability to create macros is a plus)Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in English requiredStrong Numerical & Analytical Skills: Capable of identifying potential issues and making connections to solve problems effectively. Critical thinking is a bonus.Demonstrates Accountability and Attention to Detail: Takes ownership of their work, ensuring accuracy and quality without relying on peer reviewers to identify errors.Minimum required in-Taguig office presence currently four times a month, and/or during training (may increase as the months go by)
