Data Analyst (2024-153) Astronics Subsidiary Astronics AES Location Kirkland, WA Description **JOB SUMMARY** The Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing structured and unstructured datasets to develop insightful metrics, reports, and visualizations. This role involves collaborating with technology teams and business users to understand data needs and shape technical requirements. The analyst will partner with development and data management teams to acquire necessary data from various sources. Additionally, the Data Analyst will create and maintain statistical models for ongoing and ad hoc data analysis, using advanced visualization tools to generate dashboards, reports, and presentations that effectively convey key business trends and patterns. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** **Data Collection:** + Under direction, work with internal and external customers, team members to establish data metrics and reporting needs. + Identify and acquire data from a variety of sources. + Support processes and database-driven tools used on development or sustaining projects (Development and Product Support only). + Produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools and data plotting tools. **Data Analysis:** + Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in mid-level complexity data sets to identify trend influences, to uncover insights and provide impactful recommendations. + Provide predictive value: Construct forecasts, recommendations based on business data and/or market knowledge. (Supply Chain and Customer Program Management only) + May define moderately complex data requirements, gather and validate information. + Under guidance from more senior staff, perform analysis, statistical tests and draw conclusions. + Determine and analyze metrics from data within development & support project tools. **Reporting:** + Utilize databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies to optimally present trends. + With limited direction, prepare presentations, graphs, infographics and/or reports to visualize data for dissemination of information to internal and external customers. + Create reports and analyses based on project and product needs using test and analysis of data outputs. **Tools/Process Improvement:** + Create and maintain basic statistical models for ongoing review and analysis of data. + Create specifications and work instructions for reports and analysis based on business needs and available data elements. + Maintain tools, templates and dashboards to automate data processes, improving efficiency. + Identify and define new process improvement opportunities, focusing on quality improvement and data management. + Under guidance, assist in the development & improvement of processes, databases and inputs for collecting data and conditioning data for analysis. **Miscellaneous:** + Coordinate with cross functional teams, attend meetings to gather data or to report out on conclusions/recommendations generated from analytics. + Work with cross functional teams in various research and investigative projects for positive outcomes. + May perform some administrative functions, such configuration management tasks, creation of regular departmental communications. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** **Education/Experience:** + Bachelor's degree BS in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Math, Engineering, or equivalent. + Demonstrates familiarity (typically 2+ years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position). + Intermediate level skills in MS Word. + Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, vLookup, macro generation).
