Enterprise Technology Engineers work on the strategic technology platforms we exploit from the market, or come with deep skills in the implementation and integration of market solutions into our overall technology landscape
Credit Risk supports the bp trading activities by assessing and monitoring counterparty risk through exposure monitoring, financial reporting and other risk control approaches.
This role is responsible for supporting multiple applications in bp Trading Credit Risk space and for working on new projects. You will also coordinate with internal I&E delivery teams in testing, management of environments and coordinating releases to support various project deliverables and BAU work items within the agreed timelines.
In this role You will:
Work with geographically diverse delivery groups (BA’s, QA’s and Developers) and DevOps teams in delivering quality solutions
Proactively identify risks, suggest fixes for defects and support timely resolution of critical production issues
Maintaining backlogs, tasks, and attend daily stand-ups
Promote a culture of security and safety in everything that we do
Essential Criteria:
Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a numerate degree
Very strong SQL writing skills
Experience with data analysis in SQL Server/PostgreSQL with strong RDMS database query skills
Familiarity with DevOps principles
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively, concisely, and precisely with technology staff and business stakeholders across multiple levels
Track record delivering innovative technological solutions
Strong stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision within a clear framework of accountability. Takes the initiative, follows the work plan, and checks progress against objectives
Experience working with geographically remote stakeholders and teams including managed service providers
Proven quantitative, analytical, testing, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Highly self-motivated and delivery focused
Desirable Criteria:
While not crucial, an individual with experience across Credit Risk and/or experience in the commodity trading industry, is preferred. An individual with experience contributing to the design, planning, implementation, and documentation of data services and products would also be advantageous.
