Position Summary:
The Data Analyst is a highly skilled and analytical individual who will provide critical support to a government customer and all teams on the program. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive project assistance and advanced data visualization solutions, particularly for the team on the program focusing on Control Systems. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise in Power BI and data analytics to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform strategic decisions. Success in this position requires a strong blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and exceptional organizational skills to effectively meet program objectives and reporting requirements. The Data Analyst will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop effective solutions for managing and visualizing large datasets, ensuring complex information is presented in a clear and accessible format.
In addition to their primary responsibilities, the Data Analyst will support various team projects and initiatives as needed. This role may require the individual to take on additional tasks to assist with workload distribution and team effectiveness, thereby ensuring the overall success of the department.
Data Analysis and Visualization:
+ Conduct research, planning, analysis, and organization of technical and statistical data for use in briefings, reports, and publications.
+ Consolidate and integrate data from multiple sources to generate accurate and actionable data elements.
+ Utilize Power BI to analyze data and develop dynamic dashboards and interactive visual reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
+ Utilize Power BI to design and develop interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.
+ Leverage APIs to connect and integrate data from various sources into Power BI for seamless analysis and visualization.
+ Optimize Power BI solutions by creating advanced data models, implementing DAX functions, and enabling dynamic filtering and drill-down capabilities.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver tailored Power BI solutions.
+ Ensure dashboards are scalable, user-friendly, and provide real-time updates to support decision-making processes.
+ Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with program objectives and performance goals.
Data Modeling and Reporting:
+ Design, develop, and maintain complex data models to enhance business analysis and reporting capabilities.
+ Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, leveraging advanced DAX queries and functions to ensure accurate and efficient data visualization.
+ Utilize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data, optimizing it for reporting and visualization needs.
+ Document data workflows and processes, including detailed explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and data relationships, to ensure clarity and reproducibility.
Program Support:
+ Coordinate with stakeholders and facilitate stakeholder meetings and working groups to support the objectives of the Control Systems team.
+ Track, monitor, and complete tasks in ETMS2, ensuring alignment with program requirements and timelines.
+ Maintain program documentation, organize files, and manage schedules for briefings and meetings to ensure efficient program operations.
+ Develop and deliver presentations that effectively communicate data insights, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
+ Develop clear, concise, and compelling briefing materials that effectively communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.
+ Tailor presentations to the needs of diverse audiences, ensuring that key messages are easily understood and aligned with program objectives.
+ Utilize data visualizations, charts, and graphs to enhance the clarity and impact of briefings, making data-driven insights actionable and engaging.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and refine content, ensuring accuracy and relevance of all materials.
ETL and Data Management:
+ Analyze and optimize existing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to improve data flow efficiency and reliability.
+ Design and implement new ETL systems to streamline data extraction, transformation, and loading, ensuring seamless integration across platforms.
+ Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data sources, ensuring data is clean, reliable, and suitable for program analysis and reporting needs.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure ETL processes align with program objectives and operational goals.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (e.g., Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related).
+ A minimum of 10 years of related experience.
+ Preferred knowledge or previous experience in applying analytic methodologies and principles to address client, cloud-based needs
+ Proficiency in Power BI, including dashboards, reports, and advanced DAX ( DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to perform calculations and data analysis and to perform real-time data analysis.
+ Strong knowledge of SQL for data analysis and extraction.
+ Experience with data modeling and ETL processes.
+ Proven experience in data analysis, visualization, and reporting, preferably within a government or similar environment.
+ Strong Microsoft Office skills. Must have expert level Excel skills.
+ Active Secret Security Clearance.
