Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst.
The Data Analyst will report to Dr. Liat Shenhav, and will also work closely with other members of the Institute for Systems Genetics.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct statistical research by compiling, managing, analyzing, and presenting data in numerical and graphic formats.Collaborate with experimental biologists to integrate biomedical data for research.Interpret and convey results to project leaders or principal investigators.Summarize statistical results with graphs, tables, and charts.Perform data analysis using established computational pipelines to study clinical/biomedical data.Develop new computational methods to manage and analyze biomedical/clinical data.Work closely with bench scientists to analyze and interpret genomic data.Conduct robust data quality control and validation.Adapt genomic data analysis pipelines in a rapidly evolving research environment.Assist in designing, implementing, and executing custom pipelines for collaborative projects.Learn new analysis techniques and software as needed.Assist in preparing concise presentations of analysis results.Develop bioinformatics workflows and computational methods to analyze high-throughput metagenomics and other biomedicaldata.Set up analysis pipelines for biomedical data, including molecular, imaging, and electronic health records, with quality control
and downstream bioinformatics analysis.Curate biomedical data, create databases, and develop interactive web visualizations.Prepare and present results, reports, and evaluations to a variety of audiences.Lead key data-focused projects, including development, deployment, and evaluation.Design and build data solutions using advanced machine learning and informatics methods.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics etc.
A minimum of one year of research experience with formal training in statistics and machine learning. Strong programming skills in R or Matlab and Python. Critical thinking skills and ability to translate concepts into practice. Strong organizational and time management skills, including ability to work independently and prioritize projects.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics etc.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $79,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
