We are looking for a Data analyst to produce insights from the data through statistical analysis and modeling as required. Candidate will be part of a global cross-functional team that’s responsible for the large-scale data analysis and operational analytics for Qualcomm engineering teams.
As a Data Analyst, you should be experienced in exploratory analysis, deriving insights using statistical analysis and probabilistic estimation techniques. Proficiency in querying/transforming large datasets data and visualizing datasets to present the story from data is required.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Statistics/Operations Research with 3+ years or Master’s degree in Engineering/Statistics/Operations Research with 1+ years of relevant experience in data analytics and statistical modeling
+ Strong knowledge of SQL, Python (relevant packages for statistical analysis, modeling)
+ Working knowledge of experiment design and hypothesis testing
+ Database structure, SQL, querying: Ability to join data and query across multiple sources, understanding how data structure can be improved.
+ Reporting and visualization: Proficiency in Tableau or Power BI, pivot tables, and creating dashboards that meet internal customer needs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Query bigdata system and analyze terabytes of data to deliver on complex analytical deep dives to deliver insights
+ Build statistical models to be able to perform descriptive, inferential, and predictive analytics to identify trends and relationships
+ Define and conduct statistical hypothesis testing to ensure data reliability and soundness during all stages of processing and analysis
+ Create data visualizations to present derived insights and build out operational visualizations to measure trend drifts and outliers
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with statistical techniques such as statistical inference, time series modeling, experiment design and feature engineering
+ Proficient with Python programming for data analysis (relevant packages)
+ Experience with querying and analyzing large scale data sets
+ Good understanding of classification, clustering, regression models.
+ Proficient with relational and non-relational databases
+ Demonstrated experience in visually communicating insights
+ Demonstrated experience in building analytical dashboards
+ Experience with Object oriented programming, GIT or other version control systems
+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
+ An analytical mind and quick objective decision making ability
+ Experience with Modin/Vaex, Dask or PySpark, Plotly is a plus
+ Passion for machine learning and predictive modeling
+ Experience working in a distributed team and communicating across geographic boundaries
+ Understanding of probabilities (probability modeling, Bayes rule): Understanding the math behind joint vs conditional probabilities for lead time modeling and projections.
+ Ability to prove statistical significance (t-tests, ANOVAs, etc.): Ability to identify statistically significant factors affecting outcomes.
+ Ability to prove causation: Ability to separate correlation from causation and demonstrate the impact of efforts on company performance.
+ Simulation: Ability to simulate scenarios to fill gaps where data is sparse or messy.
+ Optimization modeling: Ability to model decision scenarios and prove the best possible choice for complex problems.
+ Predictive modeling: Ability to use linear and logistic regression to identify relevant variables and communicate their impact on desired outcomes.

**Pay range** **and Other Compensation & Benefits** **:**
$82,400.00 - $123,600.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
