Data Analyst
Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Data Analyst in the non-profit industry, located in Lowell, Massachusetts. This role involves comprehensive data management and analysis, close collaboration with IT teams, and the use of data visualization tools. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the IT team and Enterprise Data Architect to manage and analyze complex datasets. • Collect, disaggregate, and sustain large datasets from various models, ensuring data integrity. • Develop and maintain datasets and data models, working with backend data systems to test and validate. • Perform rigorous data validation to ascertain accuracy and compliance with established guidelines. • Run queries and scripts to identify and resolve data discrepancies, using SQL for data manipulation. • Conduct extensive data analysis to generate actionable insights for program and organizational decision-making. • Develop and maintain dashboards using Tableau, presenting data findings effectively. • Use pivot tables and v-lookups within Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data. • Contribute to the maintenance of data integrity across various departments, ensuring proper data governance. • Write clear and concise reports summarizing data analysis results and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Review code and data within excel, proving ability to write and review code and scripts. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Data Analyst role or similar position • Proven expertise in Analytics and Business Intelligence (BI) • Experience in drafting Business Requirement Documents • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau • Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Experience with statistical analysis tools like SPSS • Familiarity with the non-profit sector is desirable, but not mandatory • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science or a related field is required • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team • Proven track record of managing multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines • Experience with data management systems and procedures • Strong understanding of data privacy standards and regulations.
